Hispanic Heritage Month

Man! I have seriously never felt my "Hispanic/Latina" roots as much as I have since I've been in Aggieland.

September 15th marked the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. Cruz and I decided to start the month off by partaking in Fiestas Patrias Mexicanas, a festival and parade celebrating Mexican culture and tradition. We had a great time at both! The parade was fun! I always love watching the classic cars and low riders drive by, and the food was amazing! Nothing beats tacos al pastor and agua de melon!!!! We also indulged in a raspa and elote en vaso! JAJA!

Too much cilantro for Jose Luis!

On September 17th, we also had the opportunity to host Mr. Edward James Olmos as the keynote speaker for Texas A&M's 2012 Hispanic Heritage Month Opening Ceremony!!! Mr. Olmos was incredible!!!!
